4500 Sparklescent Colors Set Instructions (AutoAir)
You can find the Guide as PDF here too.
Sets are designed to use Sparklescent Colors as a mid-coat over a color-keyed base for improved coverage and easier application. Color-keyed base allows Sparklescent Color to cover with less material required than over a white base. Small sets contain enough material to paint a motorcycle and a small car. Large sets contain enough material to paint an average to large-sized vehicle.
Mango (Sets 4970, 4971),
Tequila Yellow (4974, 4975),
Rock Star Red (Sets 4980, 4981)
1. Start with a tinted sealer made by mixing 4001 Sealer White with approximately 15% 4200 Series Semi-Opaque
Color. Reduce mixture 10% with 4011 Flash Reducer. After curing, dry sand smooth using 600 – 800 grit paper
to remove any surface roughness.
2. Apply the 4200 Series Semi-Opaque Colors as the base color over the tinted sealer. Reduce 10% with 4011
Flash Reducer. Allow colors to dry.
3. Apply Sparklescent Color as a mid-coat over color keyed base. Reduce 10% with 4011 Flash Reducer. Apply
lightly, avoid wetted coats and building up material in excess.
4. After curing, top coat colors with a durable, clear. We recommend a catalyzed, 2-part urethane clear for an
automotive finish.
